Unfortunate Messaging

In order to save a couple of bucks I cancelled my “Unlimited Messaging Plan”. Specially now that I am using Google Voice.
I use a lot the IM features (MSN/AIM/gTalk) though. Little did I know that the IM application that comes by default in Android connects to MSN using the SMS protocol. Today I got this surprise: $40 in SMS messages added to my monthly bill.
I instantly installed meebo.
For all Android users out there, be aware: Android’s default IM application connects to MSN using the SMS protocol.
Paying 40 bucks for something that’s free hurts a lot.
