Versed in a wealth of forms (from swing to Appalachian folk) and instruments (from the violin to the glockenspiel), Bird offers a shapely, mesmerizing CD as inventive as it is rooted in musical lore. “A Nervous Tic Motion of the Head to the Left,” for example, lays country whimsy and a touch of rock on a lush bed of strings. It’s just one of the highlights of Eggs, which peaks again and again, each time distinctly astounding or just plain beautiful.

Cripple Crow – Devendra Banhart

según leo, el estilo de Banhart está dentro de la corriente definida como psych folk (según la wikipedia). tiene influencias del tropicalia y psychodelia de los 60’s por ejemplo Santa María de la Feira suena como a canción de “Os Mutantes”, pero sin Rita Lee. Long Haired Child contiene una guitarra distorsionada. Lazy Butterfly con esos acordes de tinte hindú parece la canción perfecta para una comuna hippie.
en fin, el disco está muy disfrutable. a mí me han gustado mucho las canciones en español (Banhart fue criado en Venezuela). Quédate Luna y Santa María de la Feira muestran su “lado latinoamericano”.
aquí dejo en mp3 Santa María de la Feira, para que disfruten. altamente recomendable este disco. para resumir es algo así como Manu Chao + los Mutantes + los Panchos + Bob Dylan.

chas… a ver qué tal… totalmente mío, me tomó algo así como 2 horas de mi madrugada… mmm… mmm… el naranja no convence…
como sea, le falta otro poco. necesito arreglar detalles. no se ve igual que como lo veía en el fireworks. mmm… al menos no usa tablas… ya me siento grande
